Helping the "Least of These"
Will Evans is hosting a fundraiser to help artists who can't afford simple medical or dental treatments and in one case tells the story of Mike Gardner who died at the age of 44 from an abscessed tooth. He had gold records on the wall but still couldn't afford simple dentistry which led to his timely death. BB Kings Nashville has allowed this music event to take place for free and there will be many gospel artists playing including Phil Keaggy, Root Road, Jim Evans and others..... The event is Sunday May 29th 2011 at 6:00 PM. Tickets are 10 dollars and all proceeds go to help these struggling artists.
Will wants to reach the unchurched so lets pray lives are touched by God's life changing power.

Christian Writer’s Night : CWN
Protocol: How To Have A Christian Writer’s Night Event In Your Area.
1. Establish The Venue:
„h Churches, Coffee Shops, Bookstore’s, College Campus’
„h Confirm the Date with a Contact person, store contact’s
information both on your cell phone and email. You may be
forwarding stuff back and forth at a future date: i.e. jpeg of a
poster of the event. Questions regarding sound equipment
the night of the venue. Questions regarding opening and
closing at the event.
2. Locate The Writer’s In Your Area by utilizing Myspace.com and
facebook.com. Enter Christian musician’s in Chicago, IL., or Christian
songwriter ’s in Milwaukee, WI. Where ever you live, indeed there are
other’s out there that are doing the same thing you are, and looking for a
platform to showcase the inspiration that God has given them. You may
also want to use a search engine to find churches in a certain area, and
then contact the music ministers at that church.
„h Be Selective and Professional: not everyone who has a
myspace musician account qualifies. Evaluate the songs and
their content. If they have 3-5 good songs that minister to you
while you listen to them, odds are they will minister to others
on the night of a CWN event.
3. Send invitations to writers via email taken from their sites and/or by
posting to their wall or their inbox. Try to obtain between 8-10 artists.
Each artist will be asked to do a set of 3 songs. Usually this is at least a 2
hr. event by the time every one gets to play. Writer’s may play their
instrument of choice or use a sound track if needed.
4. Have each confirmed artist place events on the booking section of their
myspace page as well as on their facebook in the events section. Also
encourage the a rtist’s to send invites to their contact list and to make 3 to
5 posts the week of the event. We’ve had great feedback from this and it
really keeps the people informed and reminded.
5. Confirm with the venue if they already have PA equipment that can be
utilized for the event. If yes, great, ask if they have someone that will be
running the equipment for you or if you need to appoint that to someone.
Usually they prefer their sound person because they are familiar with the
equipment. If you run into the situation where you are looking for someone
to fill this position, contact one of the local churches and have them refer
someone to you. If you need to provide the equipment, you will need to
obtain; a small PA with 6 to 8 inputs. (Preferably 8), 3 mic’s, 3 boom
stands, 3 direct boxes, 3 ¼ inch chords, extension chord.
6. On the night of the event, arrive at least 45 min. before the start time to
make sure you have everything in working order. Introduce the event as
CWN_____________( name of city ); sponsored by CSMI, Christian
Songwriters and Musician’s International. For more information about
CSMI, just log on to csminetwork.com to become a part of our
organization. Open with a prayer asking God to bless the event.
7. Place 3 names to each set, each artist in the set will take turns doing a
song, each doing 3 songs. Introduce each person as they come up to the
stage area. Allow the artists’ to share regarding what inspired them to
write the song or a testimony that goes with it.
8. While the 3 are playing, you prep the next 3 artists who will be going up.
9. Close the evening by thanking the facility that hosted the event, the
soundman who ran the event, all the artists’ for sharing their hearts and
talents. Announce a tentative date that the next event may be held, but let
them know that you will be making that information available as soon as it
is confirmed. For more information about CSMI, please go the website

that seeks integrity while ministering. Have a closing prayer and dismiss.
