.

I would like to greet you with this scripture .....

Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice.
It is a new year and a new year brings new challenges. One thing is certain  the world is in great need of Jesus. I just want to take a moment to let you  know that the C.S.M.I. leadership is praying  for you.

Last year we started artist prayer nights so that we can come together to  pray for one another, listen to testimonies, and help one another get refreshed and strengthened. Whether you are touring, recording, or even waiting on the Lord for direction you are in our prayers. As a Christian music organization we feel prayer is important

Also we pray this year to reach all areas of Nashville with CWN events that people can come to and be encouraged and enjoy a night out listening to music that is uplifting and encouraging. I will make this note  short but I also want to welcome Robert Wilcox, Judy Paster, Robert Thomas, and Alina Loghim from London to C.S.M.I as new members.

We also want to  thank the Lord for blessing the tours and missions trips that so many of our artists were on last year ..Rachael Mann (Nepal) Steven Hornbeak (Europe), Lara Landon (Haiti), and we want to thank all the artists who participated in CWN or hosted an event.

May God bless you,

Gene Schmidt

Recording Projects

Dear C.S.M.I Artists,

Happy New Year

Economic times as they may be sure have not excluded Christian Artists.
We, as an organization join in prayer with every artist in his or her
ministry. As we embark upon a brand new year we are encouraged. The
blessings in store for the faithful we are sure are many.

The tremendous cost in recording a project can be overwhelming and even
discouraging. We are continuing to explore every option that would allow
you, the artist to be able to record your project.

We ask for your response in the following manner:

As a Christian Artist list the timeframe you foresee your ministry in
wanting to release a project.

April E-Newsletter.
CWN Nashville-C.S.M.I.
Apr 1, 2010

We greet you in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord and rejoice in his Resurrection.
Happy Easter to everyone from CWN Nashville and C.S.M.I.

The tomb is empty. Death could not contain the One who poured Himself out in Love. The light floods the once dark cave and fills the entire world with hope. The debt has been paid, the last enemy death has been defeated, hell has been conquered, the captives have been liberated, love has triumphed and heavens gates have been opened wide. He is Alive and all those who stand at the Altar of the Cross, believing in His promise, shall live forever in Him.

They have amazing talent and can take your song to the next level by adding vocals or developing your tracks from a demo as Nathan and Kevin own their own studios.
Kevin has done several of my songs and they have turned out beautifully. They do have fees involved but they give C.S.M.I. artists a big break.

Merry Christmas December E-Newsletter From C.S.M.I.
C.S.M.I. CWN Nashville
Dec 21, 2009

First of all we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I greet you with this scripure-from Isaiah 9 Vs 6,

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

What a great scripture of hope and promise!
This past year has seen God open many doors for Christian Writers Nights in Nashville and our Christian songwriters organization C.S.M.I. Many of you were part of an event at one time or another bringing your gift of music for others to enjoy. We want to say a special thank you to all the artists. Our prayer is that 2010 will see even greater opportunities open up for you and your music ministry.

November Impact2009 was held at The Foundry and over 70 artists participated. I would like to just have you read a couple of artists summary of the event and how it impacted their lives.
From Kimberlee Dunbar..

My experience at the 2009 IMPACT Conference was nothing short of an amazing blessing. When Gene Schmidt, founder of CSMI and organizer of the conference told me about this opportunity, I knew it was something the Lord had orchestrated. The conference was held at the Foundry in East Nashville, which is an amazing venue with an even more amazing historical background. The vision of this conference was to help bring artists together to seek the will of God for their lives. It also helped us to see that what we do is just a small part of a bigger body. We all have the same goal in mind: to win souls for Christ. It did just that! It was also so refreshing to see many young people there, serving the Lord and helping out with the conference.

The conference had a lot of speakers and artists who came to share their testimonies and what the Lord has done in their lives. I especially loved hearing Deanna Bettes share her gift! What an amazing voice the Lord has given her! We also had the pleasure of hearing Carmela Slamar, an amazing singer/songwriter and it was her heart for the Lord, that was even more inspiring. All of the artists were amazing and had the Lord’s love flowing out of them. One speaker in particular, Lenny Leblanc, co writer of “Above All”, penetrated my heart the most when he spoke of being and Christian artist in the music industry. He touched on many things and drove his main point that Christ needs to be at the center of everything. No matter what a person does. He also gave us some helpful hints and at the end of his speech had a Q and A!

One thing that will always remain in my heart and I will forever praise the Lord for was the opportunity to worship with Lenny Leblanc, with his song Above all! I asked Lenny to please play this song, before he left and his response was “only if you sing it with me!” This is such an amazing song with a lot of feeling and emotion and having the opportunity to sing it with him, was such a blessing.

I cannot wait to see the Lord and tell him how much His love means to me. I am so grateful for Gene and his servant’s heart to be the vessel for this conference. This conference served, as beginnings of a revival that the Lord has put on many hearts through the years, but Gene actually took the vision and with the strength of the Lord, saw it come to fruition. This is just the beginning of something great!

From Larry Davis...
What a blessing to be a part of the day. I enjoyed meeting and making new friends. I had a great time doing the M/C duties for Geno. I so much look forward to Impact 2010. I am so encouraged to know there is a movement with songwriters and musicians to be as effective as we can in singing and or writing. What a wonderful spirit of love and fellowship among the
crowd.

Gene has the vision. Let's all work together to help him accomplish the mission.

God Bless Each Ministry,
Larry Davis

Finally Lara Landon went to Haiti this past fall and wrote the following ...

New Reality just got back from a dental missions trip to Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with the highest HIV/AIDS infection rate as well as the highest Tuberculosis infection rate. 80% of the population is unemployed and the majority of Haitians live on less than $1 per day. NRI served over 500 patients in 7 days and 856 procedures were accomplished. NRI is a non-profit organization whose goal and purpose is to give free dental, medical, psychological and practical help to the poorest people in the world. To learn more, watch a music video from our trip and get involved please visit NEWREALITYINTERNATIONAL.ORG

But on a personal note, I am changed by the experience I had in Haiti and consider being able to go one of the biggest blessings I have ever received. I made friends with so many amazing Haitians- our translators, our drivers, the little boys that would hang around everyday to play cards and sing worship songs with us at night and of course the people we helped. I loved, loved, loved the kids and babies. That was my favorite part. I got hold the most precious little babies I've ever seen!

There were also powerful spiritual moments, like the 6 hour prayer meeting on Friday night. I didn't understand a word except "Jesus" and the electricity was coming in and out from one naked light bulb, it was 90 degrees, raining outside, they only had one microphone and someone playing drums but the people kept on keeping on. The conditions didn't phase them one bit- it was beautiful. It made me realize how privilege we are to have such luxurious places to learn and worship. I also learned that these people have a faith that is so strong due to their hard circumstances. They don't need people to go there and tell them what they already know about God, they need practical help- to be shown God through helping hands.

I learned early on in the trip- they don't want to be known for the burning trash piles and a corrupt government, the want to be known as that beautiful country with it's beautiful people. That's how I know Haiti now and I can't wait to go back again.

I wrote a song called "Face Of God" inspired by the poor and helpless like those in Haiti.

Face Of God (Lara Landon Copyright 2009)

This is my story, this is my song

It's the ballad of an orphan and it's sung by millions

would you look at me- look what I have become

Can you give me one good reason to go on?

Clean me, clothe me, tell me to believe and I will

Give me just a glimpse of what it's like to be spoken for-please

you're the only face of God I'll ever see...In this world.

This world has abandoned me, forgotten me

deemed me unworthy of their time

and what's left of me is a body racked with pain

it's been used and bruised and hungry- it's been shamed

Clean me, clothe me, tell me to believe and I will

Give me just a glimpse of what it's like to be spoken for-please

you're the only face of God I'll ever see...In this world.

And touch me, let me know I'm not alone in this world

touch me, let me know that my small cry will be heard

First of all happy 4th of July and I pray as we still enjoy freedom and peace in our country we also remember those serving in other lands in our armed forces. Caraleigh Thomas

Here is a little background on C.W.E.
Christian Women of Entertainment was founded in 2006 by Kimberlee Dunbar, a Belmont University graduate. CWE mission is to serve as a faith based, non-denominational support group for young female artists in the entertainment industry. We encourage all women to maintain their relationship with Christ by providing monthly fellowship, prayer meetings, artist showcases and educating new industry techniques.

CWE initial purpose was to serve as a support group for aspiring female artists who moved to Nashville to pursue their musical endeavors. Since then, the Lord has had His way with this ministry. Women from all over, different backgrounds and walks of life have come to find a unique fellowship with other women who love the Lord. It provides a platform for them to serve the Lord with the gifts He has blessed them with.

Our goal is to help women in the entertainment industry feel a sense of camaraderie and fellowship. We accomplish this by hosting several monthly events and showcases which help to facilitate these friendships!

As we continue to grow in the Lord, we hope to soon provide many resources for women that will help them to continue to grow spiritually, physically and emotionally. As we know, we exist because the Lord exists and we are nothing apart from Him.

If anyone would like to learn more about CWE, how to participate, or need to speak with someone about the Lord or something on their heart, please email iheartcwe1@gmail.com

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. Psalm 115:1

Finally here is an e-mail I received from India. I think it will bless you.
We would like to share an interesting story of a polio affected student. His name is Mahesh. He is studying a Diploma course in a college. He belongs to weaver’s community. His parents died for the sake of the gospel. One day we had met in a village and shared the love of Christ to this young man. The next Sunday he came to attend the fellowship without fail. Our fellowship is first floor. Our brothers carried him by hand upstairs. He is living in a remote village. He is cyclcling from that village. He is attending the bible study on Tuesdays and fasting and prayer on Fridays without fail. Please pray for Mahesh. He is cycling by three wheels. He can come and even attend the college without much trouble. We had given the Kannada bible and song books. Every day he is reading the gospels. Please pray for his studies and health that God may touch and keep working in him.
Thank you for your all prayer and your all encouragement for His work in Tiptur. May God Bless!

In His Love,
Joy Jacob

We have many projects in the works. Please keep praying for CWN Nashville C.S.M.I. and Christian Women of Entertainment.
