BIO
Matthew Barnett is originally from Baltimore MD, and has lived in Nashville, TN since 2006.
After obtaining a B.A. in Music Business from Anderson University and interning at Virgin Records in L.A., Matt attended Full Sail University, where he was awarded an A.A. in Recording Arts, earned his Pro Tools certification, and graduated Valedictorian of his class. Upon moving to Nashville, Matt began his studio career at Quad Studios on Music Row. There he worked on a wide range of projects, from demos to major label productions. He garnered a depth and breadth of engineering experience that prepared him to launch his own freelance
career. Matt currently works with artists to help them realize their creative vision for a projectfrom songwriting to final production.
Matt has had a great love for music since he was a small child, and wrote his first song at age 12. He has been writing ever since, and is currently writing worship, pop rock, and contemporary Christian songs. He also partners with various writers in the city to work on new
music. Matt and his wife Hilary are active members of Cross Point Church in downtown Nashville, where Matt leads worship. Outside of music, Matt enjoys outdoor activities, a good film, all things Apple, and spending time with family and friends.
