The Nashville Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered community dedicated to helping the hungry, homeless and hurting. We strive to restore hope and transform lives by offering programs that focus on spiritual growth, education, employment and life-recovery.
Chapel Service Guidelines
The goal of the chapel service is twofold: first, to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, challenging men to trust Christ as their personal Savior and second, to encourage and equip them to live Godly lives that will honor the Lord Jesus.
Denominational issues and controversial doctrines are to be avoided. Ministries are reminded that many men in chapel need to be saved and others encouraged. This should be our focus.
Please dress appropriately in modest clothing. Suit and tie is not required. We ask that all those delivering the message in our men’s services be male. We do have opportunities for women speakers at our Women’s Campus. Musical groups or choirs that include women are no problem, of course.
Chapel service begins at 7 p.m. with an introduction and prayer given by a Chaplain. The service is then turned over to the attending group ministering that evening. The service ends at 7:45pm promptly (this includes an altar call or invitation). Please consider that the attention span of your audience may be shorter than a typical church congregation and it is important that we stay on schedule. There are other events that follow our service.
Please contact me at 615-780-9441 no later than the day before your schedule time to organize Power Point projection if you plan to use worship songs or have other needs concerning the service. It is recommended that you bring a Flash drive if you wish to use Power Point (or Keynote.) Regarding congregational singing, the men may or may not join in, but special music is always appreciated. If any equipment must be set up for the service you must arrive at the mission no later than 5:45pm for a sound check. However, the focus of most of our chapel ministry is preaching and bringing the Word of God.
All those ministering in chapel are required to arrive no later than 6:45 p.m.
If for any reason, you are unable to be here at the appointed time for your ministry night, please contact me as soon as possible so our staff can adequately prepare for the service.
Thank you for your willingness to serve the Lord by ministering at the Nashville Rescue Mission!
